Here are some of the picture improvements you can expect from Professional calibration.
The first thing most notice is the flesh tones become much more realistic. Colors will be less garish and more natural looking. Dark material will reveal more shadow detail as a result of getting black level exactly correct for all your sources.
The picture will be smoother with less artifacts, and will look less edge enhanced or unnaturally sharp. Movies on DVD, HD DVD, Blu-ray, and HD cable or Satellite channels will look more film like, which means your HDTV will more closely reproduce the original look of the film as intended by the film’s director.
