Tweaktv request for Toshiba 65H14 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello, I am new to this site and was hoping to get the best calibration settings possible for my Toshiba model 65H14. If they are ever available please let me know, thanks so much!

Greetings goofs59,

I posted this elsewhere in response to requests for settings relevant to CRT-based RPTVs.

Given the age of this unit and the variability of potential hours of the CRTs, it is impossible to suggest where parameters for image fidelity should be set to.

Now, having said that, it's possible one of the other moderators may have original pre-cal files and can offer suggestions on where the User Menu parameters can be set to for some items like Sharpness / Color / Tint.

Contrast and Brightness, unless the set has experienced extremely limited usage hours, are not likely to equate to sets in the field with this degree of time that has passed.

As I have posted elsewhere, if your set is a low hours candidate for a "day at the spa", as it were, you may consider hiring a professional to clean (remove the lenses and clean the CRT face plates) Mechanically Focus, Electronically Focus, Service Level Convergence, adjust Greyscale, and adjust User Menu settings per the viewing environment and connected equipment. A number of Pioneer RPTVs were given said consideration the past few months, and in nearly every case result in better than out-of-the box original performance (even with many hours on them...those Hitachi CRTs they used were capable of tons of light output with very durable phosphors). Re-biasing showed little to no penalty, and with companion adjustments, many a delighted client was the end result.
