Displaymate is an excellent program, however, it is best used to calibrate the computer it is running in. Because video cards in laptops and computers have highly inconsistent output charachteristics they are a very poor choice for supplying test patterns to anything but the computer they are running in.

If you are using a computer and DisplayMate with the DVI output found on many newer laptop computers then the video signal will be "perfect". When in the digital domain the computer is not using the video cards gamma look up tables that contribute to the mis-tracking found when using the analog output section of the card.
