David Abrams’ Biography
David Abrams’ formal education is in Video Productions at the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in New York. There he learned the finer points of video including how the signal goes form the camera in the studio to the television inside one’s home. While at school Dave interned with Joe Kane Productions on the development of "Digital Video Essentials" which led to a full-time position at JKP Labs.
Currently Dave is a partner at Avical - a nationwide video system calibration and consulting company. Having performed system consulting and calibration services to some of Hollywood's elite, the United States Government, home theater installers and end user's all across the country, Avical has received hundreds of accolades in recognition for their high level of technical and customer services. Based in the NYC and LA metro areas respectively, but having also done extensive "calibration touring" across the country, Avical continues to raise the bar by developing new ways of approaching old calibration techniques while creating some of their own. Avical has also assisted the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) and Joe Kane Productions (JKP) with their calibration seminars and provided The Perfect Vision magazine with calibration and evaluation services for a number of their video product reviews.
